Assets Overview

Assets are information about pieces of equipment which can be attached to jobs. Manufacturers are the makers of assets and parts are the components that make up assets.

For example a printer (an asset) might have a Sharp as the Manufacturer and a print cartridge, paper and print tray as parts.

Part categories are groups the parts are placed in.

Assets can be attached to jobs so that users of Mpro5 can see the assets that they need to be using for jobs.

How to search for an Asset

  1. Select the Assets sub-tile on the main home screen. 

    You will be directed to the below page, where all your Assets are listed.
  2. Searching for an asset can be done using the side menu where you can enter some criteria in. The menu consists of the below parameters:

How to create an asset:

This will presume that you have followed the steps above and that your in the Assets area already.

  1. Select the Plus (+) con at the top left of the grid.
  2. A number of fields will pop up and will look like this:

    Field Name

    Field Type

    Asset Number

    A free text field for entering a unique asset number.

    Serial Number

    A free text field for entering an asset serial number.

    Enabled

    A field for enabling or disabling the asset.

    Barcode

    A free text field for entering a barcode number.

    Asset Cycle

    A free text field for entering an asset cycle.

    Asset

    A free text field for entering the name of the asset.

    Notes

    A free text field for entering notes against the asset.

    Commissioning Start

    A date field for selecting the commissioning start date.

    Not Used

    A date field for selecting the date that the asset stopped being used.

    Install Date

    A date field for selecting the install date.

    Manufacturer/Model

    A dropdown field for selecting the manufacturer and model.

    Customer

    A dropdown field for selecting the customer.

    Site

    A dropdown field for selecting the site depending on the customer selected.

    Location

    A dropdown field for selecting the location depending on the site selected.

    Depot

    A dropdown field for selecting the access group to lock the asset to.

     
  3. Complete all the required fields necessary and click the tick at the bottom right of the screen to save the asset to the system.
 

How to edit an Asset:

This will presume that you have followed the steps above and that your in the Assets area already.

  1. Select the Edit button on the Asset that you want to edit.
  2. Amend the field you want changed.
  3. Select the tick box icon in the bottom right corner of the pop up screen to save the changes.

Note. To disable the asset uncheck the enabled checkbox on the edit screen.

 

How to Search for a Manufacturer:

  1. Select Manufacturer from the Assets area of the side menu.

    Once selected, you will directed to the below page.
  2. Search for the Manufacturer and enter the relevant criteria into the search via the 3 dots in the Manufacturer column and use filter and  "contains",  then click details to see the manufacturer information.

 

How to create a manufacturer:

  1. Select the Plus (+) icon from the top left of the grid.
  2. Add a Manufacturer name and toggle the Enabled option so its one, then click the save icon that looks like a floppy disk.

How to edit a manufacturer:

This will presume that you have followed the steps above and that your in the Assets area already.

  1. Select the details icon on the manufacturer you would like to edit.
  2. Once you select Edit, you will be directed to the below page:

You can select the Pencil icon to edit the Manufacturer, its only the name you can amend or enabling/disabling it.

To save the change, select the save icon which looks like a floppy disk.

You have now edited a manufacturer that can be used by assets.

Note. You can also add models to the Manufacturer as below:

Once you select the plus (+) icon, you will see the below page.

In my example here, my Manufacturer is Samsung and my Models are different appliances and devices that Samsung manufacture.

How to add a part:

This will presume that you have followed the steps above and that your in the Assets area already.

  1. Select the Parts option from the side menu for Assets:

    It will direct you to the below page:
  2. Press the Plus (+) icon.
  3. You will be directed to the below page:

Enter all the Part details and then press the save icon that looks like a floppy disk.

 

How to edit a part:

This will presume that you have followed the steps above and that your in the Assets area already.

  1. Select the edit option on the Part you want to edit:
  2. Once you have made your change, select the save icon that looks like a floppy disk to save it.

Note: To disable the part, uncheck the enabled checkbox.

 

How to Search for a Part Category:

  1. Select the Part Category option from under the Assets & Parts side menu.
  2. You can search for a Part Category by using the column headers using the three dots and then you can use the filter method called "contains", enter a value and select filter.
  3. Select details on the relevant result.

How to add a part category:

This will presume that you have followed the steps above and that your in the Assets area already.

  1. Select the plus (+) icon.
  2. You will be directed to the below page:

Add a Part Category name and press the save icon that looks like a floppy disk.
